First, stop at the Minka Market and visit a fishing terminal early in the morning to see fish and seafood, octopus, shrimp, sea bass and kingfish fresh from the briny sea. Then pick up some native fruits and vegetables of Peru—pitless mini-avocados, lucuma, chirimoya, and a variety of potatoes. Next, you’ll drive to the Queirolo Tavern for a Peruvian-style ham sandwich snack and a Pisco (the national beverage); then, delight in a cooking demonstration and lunch at Señorio de Sulco. This elegant restaurant is located at the northern extreme of the Miraflores district and takes a thoughtful approach to traditional Peruvian cooking. It features several dining rooms, including a piano bar and an enclosed terrace that overlooks the coast. Many of the dishes come served in earthenware pots.
