Customer Reviews for A Taste of Barcelona: A Tapas Experience

A Taste of Barcelona: A Tapas Experience

The aim of this tour is to discover Barcelona, the city, and Barcelona, the epicurean center. Enjoy a brief panoramic drive through the Gothic Quarter to admire the outside view of the Santa Eulalia Cathedral. Continue past Gaudí’s church of La Sagrada Familia, and you’ll stop at two different bars in the heart of the Passeig de Gracia. Here, you will experience a taste of Barcelona, sampling two traditional tapas and a beverage at each location. Then, you will have free time to browse in the shops along the renowned Passeig de Gracia Boulevard before returning to the ship.Notes: Tastings will vary depending on the fresh products available seasonally. This option is only available to guests who are returning to the ship.

This was my first time traveling alone and I was very disappointed when the bus driver left me on the first stop at the Gothic Church on a busy street. I was shopping for souvenirs, had my pic taken with the church in the back ground and realized my bus was GONE! I talked to the police about my plight and they informed me that the bus would be waiting behind the church so I was heading that way when I came upon HAL passengers and proceeded to follow them (thinking it was the same excursion). Later I found out that it was a panoramic excursion w/o the tapas experience. The tour guide was very helpful in trying to contact my bus driver....however, it was too late...they were too far away. Unfortunately, I had lost my sticker off my blouse or I would have known I was following the wrong crowd. Sooo this experience was a nightmare for me!!

This was supposed to be a Tapas experience. First, the food was barely acceptable, and (I am now told) not particularly authentic. We were shuttled by bus to 2 different locations, both of them in high-traffic tourist areas. The guide did her best, but all she told us about was a little of the architecture of the buildings. We were simply shuttled from bus to restaurant to restaurant to bus. Would not do this again, nor recommend it.
