This was a beautiful hike around Miles Canyon - such a piece of history! It was here that the goldminers had to get through with their boat and supplies. Now the river is not as rough as it was back then due to the dam up stream. However you can still see where they would have had problems. It was fascinating to walk where this occurred and to imagine what it was like. The water in the canyon is a beautiful shade of blue and the canyon walls are amazing. A nice little hike - and our guide was knowledgeable about the are.
The hike was very modest, but picturesque. The river was a beautiful blue. Because of the dam the river is now higher than it used to be. We enjoyed the fresh air and the narration. Our guide is also a musher and liked talking about her dogs, we liked that part too.
